Sales & Purchases at Woodstock Legal Services
Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll make, and the conveyancing process can feel complex and slow. Having an experienced lawyer on your side, who keeps things moving and explains each step clearly, makes all the difference. Woodstock Legal Services helps buyers and sellers across England and Wales move with confidence.
Our residential conveyancing lawyers advise on freehold and leasehold purchases and sales, first-time buyer purchases, buying and selling in a chain, new build purchases, buy-to-let and investment properties, high-value residential transactions, and simultaneous sales and purchases when you’re moving home.
You’ll work directly with an experienced lawyer who keeps you updated at every stage and works closely with your estate agent, mortgage broker and lender to keep your move on track from offer to completion.
Buying a Home
When you buy a property, your lawyer’s job is to make sure you know exactly what you’re buying, that there are no hidden legal issues, and that your money and new home are fully protected.
Our lawyers review the contract and title, carry out searches, raise enquiries with the seller’s lawyers and report to you on anything that needs your attention. We work with your lender to meet the conditions of your mortgage offer, arrange exchange and completion, and deal with Stamp Duty Land Tax (or Land Transaction Tax in Wales) and registration of your ownership at HM Land Registry.
Whether you’re a first-time buyer or an experienced investor, we’ll explain everything in plain English, so you can make decisions with confidence.
Selling a Home
A well-prepared sale helps you keep your buyer on board and avoid delays further down the chain. The sooner your paperwork is in order, the smoother the process tends to be.
Our lawyers prepare the contract pack, help you complete the property information forms, and respond to the buyer’s lawyers’ enquiries promptly. On completion, we receive the sale money, pay off your mortgage and estate agent, and transfer the balance to you or towards your onward purchase.
If you’re selling and buying at the same time, we’ll coordinate both transactions so they exchange and complete together, keeping your move as stress-free as possible.

Residential Sales & Purchases FAQs
Why Choose Woodstock Legal Services?
Low Caseloads: Your Matter Gets Time
As consultants, our conveyancers manage their own caseloads and only work for a handful of clients at any one time. That gives your purchase or sale the time, care and attention it deserves, from first call to completion.
Proactive Updates: No Chasing
Our consultancy model means you deal directly with your lawyer, not a call centre or a rotating team. They keep you informed at every stage and are on hand to answer your questions, so you’ll never need to chase.
CQS Accredited
Woodstock Legal Services is accredited under the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS), the recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing. It reflects our commitment to high standards of client service and practice management.
