About Sam
Sam is a Consultant solicitor with over 16 years of experience in family and litigation matters. Sam helps clients with divorce and finances, child matters, nuptial agreements, non-molestation orders, disputes regarding jointly owned property, builders' disputes, landlord and tenant, contract disputes, and employment law matters.
Sam works with a broad range of individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Sam also acts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in litigation matters.
Sam gives clear advice to clients in straightforward language and a timely manner.
Most of Sam's spare time is spent riding her horse, Prince. Together they compete in endurance competitions mainly across Dorset, Hampshire and Surrey.
Legal Specialisms
- Divorce & Finances - Sam can assist clients with divorce proceedings and negotiating a financial settlement thereafter. She conducts her own advocacy, ensuring a consistent approach.
- Children Matters - Sam assists clients with child arrangements, which can include who the children live with, how much time is spent with the other, relocation and other specific issues. Sam has significant experience with allegations of domestic abuse within children's proceedings.
- Non-Molestation/Occupation Orders - Sam assists clients in either obtaining Orders or defending them from initial instruction to court hearings.
- Jointly Owned Property Disputes - Sam assists joint owners of property, which can either be ex-partners or other family members/friends, and all aspects under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996
- Contract Disputes - Sam assists clients with a whole range of contract disputes, including builders' disputes, faulty vehicles, debt recovery or other general disputes.
- Settlement Agreements - Sam advises employees on settlement agreements provided by their employers, the costs of which are usually covered by the employer.
Legal Expertise in Practice
- Urgent Children Proceedings - Sam acted for a father whose 2 young children had been removed from the family home and out of the area. The children were returned to him on an interim basis, and eventually, a shared care arrangement was agreed upon with the children remaining in the local area.
- Domestic Abuse in Children Proceedings - Sam acted for a mother who had suffered significant domestic abuse from her ex-husband. Many of the allegations were proven at a fact-finding hearing, and due to the seriousness, the father was not permitted any contact with the child and was prevented from knowing their location or making any further applications.
- Domestic Abuse in Divorce/Financial Proceedings - Sam acted for a wife who had to flee the family home due to domestic abuse and was living in temporary accommodation with her son. Sam successfully argued for sufficient capital for a suitable house to be purchased and a pension sharing order.
- Faulty Car Dispute - ASam represented a client in civil proceedings against a car dealer where a faulty used car had been sold with issues appearing on the drive home following collection. Sam obtained several orders for costs against the Defendant and also assisted with the recovery of the judgment amount.
- Builder Dispute - Sam acted for a builder in defending a claim for alleged faulty workmanship when he was only a subcontractor. The defence was successful, and the client was also awarded his legal costs to be paid by the claimant.
- Settlement Agreements - Sam has advised on many settlement agreements and assisted with negotiating a more suitable compensation sum.
